Easy to handle and operate, the FX-D body is well balanced for steady hand-holding, and has all controls positioned to fit naturally in the hand and be operable with full confidence, even with the eye to the viewfinder. Exposure calculation is performed by a rapid-response Silicon Photo Diode (SPD) sensitive enough to react to even the slightest changes in lighting. All exposure data is processed by a central unit that delivers commands to the camera's aperture priority AE system - or via the viewfinder LED display to the photographer - to obtain perfect AE or Manual mode expo- sures under any lighting conditions.
The viewfinder display incorporates 15 dot LEDs plus a flash data indicator "~". The display is turned on (for 10 seconds at a time) by pressing the exposure check button. It provides indication of AE-set shutter speed, or match-LE D system to adjust manual exposure settings.
